The impetus for creating this book, is nowadays view of our society to see men´s body naked. During the renaissance a man´s body epitomised beauty and perfection, and nowadays it just provokes critical and alienated feelings.

Joachim Baldauf wanted to track and actually understand this phenomenon. Therefor he has realized productions showing men as natural beings for three years. The photographer transcends the individuality, personality, life story and emotions of the person, and just spots in an archaic way the nude body.

What does still rest, when the seducing power of personality does no longer control the glance? A mirror. In the subjective glance appears the subjective man.
