Peter Rigaud

Peter Rigaud evokes a very strong feeling with a single picture. He manages to communicate a very special side of personalities, recognizes the special atmosphere of the moment and combines them in his pictures. Peter Rigaud is a renowned portrait photographer and photojournalist who awakes the interest of the viewer with his unique eye. His concentrated, tactile study of his "objects" is his speciality. He blurs the boundaries between photography and painting. Rigaud "understands" personalities. He manages to express the character of a person while creating a picture that is so well composed that it attracts the interest of the viewer. Peter Rigaud studied photography design at the well-known Lette Verein in Berlin.

He works worldwide for French Vogue, German Vogue, National Geographic, Stern, W Magazine, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Zeit Magazin, New York Times, amongst others. Also, he successfully created campaigns for Swarovski, Procter & Gamble, Red Bull, T- Mobile, Vodafone a.o.. He worked with celebrities like Anna Netrebko, Dennis Hopper, Moby, Nina Hagen and Leon de Winter, to name a few, who trust the skills of the portrait master.

Furthermore Peter Rigauds works were published in several books: Will Burg Soll (theatre programme, Burg Theatre Vienna, 2010), Light/Night - The Nouvel Tower (Brandstätter Publishing, 2010), "Portraits, (Brandstätter Publishing, 2008) and "Wien, Vienna Fotoessays", (Echomedia, 2008) showing an abstract of his work. In 2010 Peter photographed the prestigious Burgtheater ensemble as a special project and had a solo show at the Leica gallery in Salzburg (June2010). Further book projects and exhibitions follow feb 2011.

Peter Rigaud lives in Berlin and Vienna.
